Welcome to Subbies

Subbies is for international students from South Asia -including India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The word "Subbies" is short for "Subcontinent". We welcome everyone to Subbies - no matter what your religious or ethnic background.

Each week, we enjoy food, fun, friends, faith and festivals. And it's all free!

Wellspring Anglican Church helps provide a delicious curry or hot meal to everyone who attends. We cater vegetarian, chicken and halal meals for dinner, so that everyone is included.

Subbies is designed to be a home away from home for international students. It is a safe place for everyone to meet others from their home country, as well as connect with friendly local Australians.

Many international students have reported that belonging to Subbies is the highlight of their time studying in Tasmania!

Subbies runs 7:00pm-8:45pm every Tuesday during the university semester.
